Shooting along with the right tools and knowledge is very fun and easier than most might think. It requires a degree of patience, but worth it if you are in a position exactly a ball a mile and a half. Let me explain.
Some years ago my father and I were hunting coyotes we saw about fifty yards 200-100, so we started lobbing balls, hoping to reach our goal. After a couple of shots of the coyote looked at us and thenwith what they were doing what we felt very stupid. We never met, but that was the day he started to shoot at long range, and to ensure that the next time we shot, so we know exactly how we would achieve our goal.
After reading this article you will learn the secrets of a long shot and learn a few tricks I've gathered over years of practice and experience. No matter what kind of gun you can shoot accurately at long rangethis information. However, there are rounds and rifles that are for real and reach 7MM STW or 7mm or or.338 A 338 Lapua. There are a lot of perfect long-range guns, but unless you have an ideal weapon to be ok. You can still get really sufficient to 700-900 meters, and let's face it, think how many animals you can kill if they were extremely competent at 700 to 900 meters?
For reasons of time I will use my data from a special 7 mm. My rifle is a Remington7 mm 700. What we do is the following.
1 Rifle (7mm Remington 700)
Round 2 (Bullet effective)
3 Reload
4 Data spherical
Once again, we've covered # 1, you need a gun and you need to know its capabilities. So lets get the ball to # 2. I use a 162 grain Sierra with 68 grains of IMR powder BTHP 4831. I tested the balls and powder and that for me was the most accurate long range and close to 100 up to 1500 meters. My ball is not for the animals on long-haul large as the idealknockdown power drops rapidly over long distances.
So, we need data at the level, if you do not charge a good ball, we provide the following information, preferably in the field. Hornady has this information directly on the box of most of them high-powered rifle shots. All you need is out of the box, initial velocity, you need to ball ratio in a special series on the book or producers are often found, has a website dedicated to identify the ballCoefficient.
1 Muzzle velocity
2 coefficient of the ball
With this information, you can now start adding the data is in a program on a connector exbal PDA. (We use a Dell that we have on eBay for $ 90) or the Iphone has a nice application called "Shooter" is what you need in the application functions long shot.
1 Muzzle velocity
2 Barometric pressure
3 Height
4 Temperature
5 Wind correction
6 Point the top hole (usually of 1-2inches)
7 CoSign or angle of fire.
Enter data into the computer and then if your in the area, simply enter the information requested in relation to the new location. So here is what I usually do. Consistent with my ball data, are the only things I need to change the field conditions. If we are always ready to hunt, I put my meter Kestral (kestrel.com) and I get the temperature, altitude, barometric pressure and humidity and I have them all inComputer.
Then I pull on my table drop, so drop the ball at 300, 400, and know up to 1500 meters or more. This is the key, but the final tid-bits.
Its circumference ...
You can go with an evening Force-large for $ 2500 or you can do what I did and get a simple Bushnell elite - the key is able guidance of the MOA or minutes.
You drop your table is set as the MOA adjustments in your room for options for the distances you shoot. They are up to 47Minutes of the angle adjustment on my Bushnell elite.
So, when I prepared to take a photo are my Lika 1200 draw (good for up to 1500 meters at dusk), I get my distance, say 945 meters. Then I pull on my table drops, the condition of the ball field and my data already in it and I can not wait t 945 meters and tells me to have a 27 MOA. I blow up my frame and Dial-Up Angle 27 minutes and guess what? That's right now to ZERO to 945 meters, I just set my sights fundsGoal!
I hope this helps you some samples if you want to check out my videos on YouTube.
